Thumbs down Fairfield Inn Detroit - Auburn Hills... UGH!!!

I don't know if there is a thread on this hotel, or Fairfields in general, but I am in Detroit for a day and decided to try this branch of the Marriott tree.

Apparently God hates me.

The Fairfield in Auburn Hills lists its address as being on Opdyke Road, when in fact it is not really near that road. What's worse, there are NO signs, or even street signs, directing you to this hotel. But given what I found, maybe Marriott prefers it that way.

Marriott, get a bunch of bulldozers and turn them loose on this dump. Then sell the land to any sucker who will buy. This is worse than any Motel 6 I've ever seen. There is no front of the hotel. No sign, nothing. After finding the hotel, I drove around the building twice looking for the front door. I was standing next to it and wasn't sure I was near.

The guy inside was nice enough, but the SMELLS... outside, in the halls, wherever. The rooms are TINY, very tiny, no upgrades for Marriott Platinum because apparently they don't have any better rooms. I won't go into details, other than to say NEVER book here. NEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVER.

I thought at first there was a meth lab in one of the rooms, since most rooms have outside doors like the old motor hotels from the '60s. But then I realized even drug dealers wouldn't reserve here. So, if it isn't clear by now, STAY AWAY.

Marriott, PM me and I can recommend some heavy equipment rental places nearby.
