And only if you speak Chinese. These are mostly street stands or commonly - located behind stands. They aren't exactly "shops".
I wouldn't recommend it for foreigners. Just stick to the convenience stores / official retail stores. Sim cards in HK are dirt cheap already - not worth the hassle if you don't know the local language / area.
I'm from Hong Kong originally, and I go to Sham Shui Po regularly to shop(just not hunting for sim cards). Do you have one that you trust or you can practically buy it from any stand?
I normally buy it from 7-11 in the city but very often they don't have all the sim cards available.
