I told the guy not to lose my confirmed upgrade on the return and he said that was not a problem. Then when the price came out funny he said he was repricing the whole thing but did not state I would lose the upgrade so I figured he had some way to preserve it in these situations. In the past, I have been about to change the date on an outbound without it affecting cleared upgrades on the return, but that was same routing.

HUCA works $400. Tons of time on hold with rate desk but upgrades on return preserved. Now fingers crossed it's not $400 in vain, I don't want to jinx but have never had a SWU not clear. New route is C9D9J9.
