As to your question for what's next, how about China? It may not be as exotic as Bali, but certainly full of culture and history. We are going there this coming holiday, it will be the 4th trip of my eldest daughter and the 2nd trip of the youngest. And they all remember the crazy "bug" they ate in Guangzhou last time! :-) We are using AA miles to fly Cathay to HK on the outbound but weren't able to get any seats on the return as it is peak holiday travel season, so we are flying back from Shanghai on AA but all five of us are in first class!
By the way, I LOVE that beautiful sunset picture at the beginning of your report! Simply stunning! And the food at the seafood restaurant, yummy! Can totally imagine my husband wanting to eat there every meal! LOL
We put a premium on travel and great family vacations and often went with three generations - grandparents us and kids. It was a really special time and great boding. Haven't done Bali but I would recommend Thailand, China or Oceania. You could combine China and Oceania by stopping in Shanghai or Beijing. The latter has great history and culture for kids on the way to Australia or New Zealand. New Zealand is the ultimate outdoors and adventure there is all sorts to do and even though it takes a long time to get there. Australia has great barrier reef taronga zoo the harbor beaches It can be done Inexpensively once you are there. You have spoiled your bye with Cathay F There is no place to go but down so you might have some expectation setting next time around.
