Fully booked hotel: Do they open rooms a few days before?
Hi all,
I've been trying to book a room at a Hilton in downtown Nashville for the past few weeks. I ended up reserving a room at another Hilton further out in the city because everything was sold out downtown (although rooms are available at the HIlton downtown for like $300+ more than what the usual cost is!).
My question: Leading up to my travel date, is it possible for Hilton to open up some rooms at standard prices a few days before the date? Is it worth it to keep checking the website for something like a "48hr sale"? Or, is it pretty much a "reserve as far in advance as possible" type of strategy these days?
Thanks.
