Look at FC, you have enough miles for a saver FC award, and that would be a great chance to get solid value for your miles.

If that fails, I would get your wife's ticket with miles and purchase your own. You'll get your itinerary for half the cash price, earn a few more miles for your account. You'd have enough miles then for next year's pair of tickets probably, even if they can't be had for saver levels. the downside is separate bookings, but generally that is only a small hassle.

Buying both with cash will earn your wife miles, but that won't be worth much if she doesn't keep accumulating.
