This property upgrade PLAT to RBC if available, but during Xmas time, do you want to take a chance? Lounge access is PLAT benefit at Sheraton, not sure about Westin, and RBC is in a separate building.
I find the property is a bit dated, and Lagunamar is a better location. Maybe contact Lagunamar and ask them to put you in waitlist?

I just booked 7 nights around Xmas and New Years at the Westin Resort using points. We will be 2 adults with 1 kid. Unfortunately the Lagunamar was completely sold out so it was either the Westin or the Aloft. My wife is SPG Plat and I was wondering if I would get a free upgrade to the RBC. My stash of SPG points is pretty limited so I'd rather not blow the points if I am gonna get the bennies for free.
Another question - would the RBC room have a fridge and microwave? The lil' one needs her milk.
