Hey folks,

I just booked 7 nights around Xmas and New Years at the Westin Resort using points. We will be 2 adults with 1 kid. Unfortunately the Lagunamar was completely sold out so it was either the Westin or the Aloft. My wife is SPG Plat and I was wondering if I would get a free upgrade to the RBC. When I booked it the reservation agent asked if I wanted a RBC room for an aditional 1500 points/night and since I had read good things in this thread, I decided to go for it. However, shouldn't lounge access be a free perk as a Plat? I am Marriott Lifetime Plat so am used to always getting Lounge access and was wondering if SPG followed the same rules?

My stash of SPG points is pretty limited so I'd rather not blow the points if I am gonna get the bennies for free.

Another question - would the RBC room have a fridge and microwave? The lil' one needs her milk.
