Just like you I would like my bag in the area of where I am sitting! I agree that anything more than 1 bag either side is not really acceptable. With nearly 3 lockers full of equipment down the back plus 5/6 crew bags, where would the passengers sat there put theirs? At the end of the day you pay for the seat and NOT the locker above YOUR head!
At the end of the day, the colossal stupidity of the above post validates my point in a previous post that while 30% of BA staff are exceptional in their service and help, and the remaining 70% are ..well..just the opposite.
The pax pays the salary of the BA staff, hence they get first dibs on the overhead lockers.
