Hmmm ... LGW-JER yesterday. As usual, we choose the 2nd row of CE so that our carry-ons can go under the seat in front of us. On the 734, that was 3a/c, so we had a good view of events in Row 1 and 2.

Yes, the overheads in Row 1 were well filled by crew gear, as usual. So there was a bit of shuffling around, including using the overheads above us and the solo occupant of 2C. For us, problem solved ... Avoid the bulkhead seats.

(OT) Until, on a 30-minute sector, 2C decides he really needs to recline his seat, insert his headphones and use most of my space. Fortunately, I wasn't planning on eating, so a drink and a snack went on the mini-tray at 3B ... Those trays make a lot of noise when they're dropped down 'carelessly', not that 2C really noticed enough to sit up. The OH overheard that he had just flown from IAD - Gosh, so had we, and we were tired as well. (/OT)

(OT2) Of course, on the UD of the TATL 744, there's no problem ... Even the guy with the grossly over-sized bag that needed hammering into the overhead eventually had it transferred by the CC somewhere else (wardrobe?). When will BA start seriously policing carry-on bag sizes? The little paper tags are very interesting, but if the size gauge isn't used, or the tagging system enforced, everyone ends up suffering. (/OT)
