I can give you two good reasons not to fly on EK.

i) QR offers 2-2-2 config across all long haul flights. EK offers 2-3-2 config on many flights.

ii) QR offers fully flat beds on all 777s. EK does not.

I don't think that it is worth seeking a complimentary upgrade in exchange for an inferior product in your ticketed cabin.
