I doubt that too many people will get "caught" doing this? Usually you don't show up with the whole family to check in. The only way for them to catch you is from room service or house keeping. Either you put out the do not disturb sign all the time, but that's not possible with the smaller hotels. They still might come into the room after knocking and no one answer. There are always signs of more than 2 people in the room. Or you have to tip/bribe them very very well everyday to look the other way.
