Should PQM and RDM be credited with originally perchased or rebooked class?

My last trip had IRROPS (irregular operations); the last three segments were rebooked into full-fare Y class, which entitled me to 50% PQM and 25% RDM fare-class bonuses. But MileagePlus agents did not agree. Is there any chance to get the extra PQMs and RDMs? I would guess that the policy has been changed. Any insight/thought on this?

Here is the full letter from MileagePlus:

Hello Mr. KMXU,

We’re always glad to hear from Premier 1K members like you. Thanks for writing.

Miles are earned according to the booking code that you purchased, even if you upgrade your seat to a different booking class or cabin.

The ticket for your United Airlines flights on September 30, 2013 was purchased in N class. Therefore, we are unable to credit your account for Y booking class.

We appreciate the time you took to write and for giving us the opportunity to clarify this matter.

Regards,

MP agent
