I'm booked SIN to KUL round trip flying Singapore Air metal using my United miles (25000 miles). The flight is $250 otherwise. My other option is to fly Malaysia or Silk Air for half the price. Am I going to be missing anything if I book on the cheaper flight on Silk metal? Looks like I wouldn't earn any miles but on a short flight that isn't a big deal.
