I also know many Doha origin passengers that avoid the A320 C-class to Europe, passengers who would usually pay a premium to fly non-stop as opposed to use EK or EY are switching over to EK or EY when flying to QR's A320 european destinations.
The good news is that TXL (Berlin) is switching to the A330 in December.
+1 Moreover, we should avoid buying QR biz on any flight that might plausibly be switched to the A320 -- e.g., MXP, FCO, GVA, ZRH, plus the shorter southeastern Europe destinations (e.g., IST, which is sometimes scheduled for an A330 now). Not sure about others. I think that, in addition to TXL, STR used a 320 but they dropped the route (gee, a business-focused route three times per week on an A320 -- I wonder why that one didn't work?

). ARN has used a 319 in the past, which is a different animal since it has lie-flats. Have they ever used A320/321 on this one? Or on CPH?
EK's A330/340 angled seats may not be great, but at least there is no risk of getting something worse than that when you book. I made this point in a complaint to QR about my experience.
