This happened once to me last year (DFW-SFO cancelled, rebooked on next flight and diverted to SJC). At least 3 EXP's in coach. I was on a P (UP) fare.

Contact AA and received credit for difference between P fare paid and coach (discounted - I believe I had noted it when I booked) fare.
