Probably because the contract says that some number of planes will be installed or that any planes delivered during the period will be installed or something else. We don't have the contract to read so we cannot know for certain. There's also the chance that LiveTV says they aren't going to install any more systems (remember that the vendor pays for the HW kit, not UA) because UA has indicated they aren't going to renew the contract.

We simply don't have the data to draw proper conclusions.

This says to me they don't have to put LiveTV on all of them.
Again, this doesn't include a number which will be getting the LiveTV kit. It might just be a couple or it cold be dozens. We just don't konw.

DirecTV contract isn't expiring just no new aircraft being delivered next year will receive DirecTV.

This is good news.

I think just streaming WiFi starting in 2014. Some unknown number of planes will still receive the TV option as well this year but that will wrap up very quickly.
All 739ERs currently flying right now without entertainment systems will receive DirecTV, 739ERs being delivered next year will have wireless content.
