Will now enjoy a booking guarantee in S and Y on all SQ and MI flights.
PPS Club Solitaire
Will now benefit from six years carry-over of PPS value.
Will now have access to the First Class Lounge upon arrival in Singapore.
Will now have almost guaranteed access to Economy Saver Awards.
Good to see an increase in benefits from a Frequent Flyer program for a change.
Being a CX loyalist, i'd compare with what the MPC has to offer..The way i see it:
1. Reserve Value: advantage SQ (though CX does flex, if you're short of requal based on excess club miles in the past, it is not a published benefit)
2. Seat guarantee: Advantage CX. 24h seat guarantee for Diamonds in a very reasonable (V) class -thats a mid 600s flight to HKG - while i see that SQ's guarantee is on very high fares (a quick search showed a SGD 850ish fare to HKG not being in the eligible fareclasses - but then, now I dont really know SQ). Even Golds get the guarantee at T-72h.
3. Lounges: advantage CX. DMs get access to any CX lounge (even non-CX branded) irrespective of metal being flown. First Class lounge access when flying any oneworld carrier. Arrivals lounge in HKG
4. Award access: depends on how SQ's benefit plays out. CX is very good with 'opening up' award seats for DMs on low load fligths (even if award seats are not available)
And these, for a 'regular' DM - not the DM+.
