Is this SOP when the Diamond desk is swamped? If so I would kindly suggest to the Concierge that you consider instead a re-route to the regular reservations lines, where I can reach a live human. Nobody wants to leave a voicemail when they need a reservation.
There is no dedicated Diamond line, calling the number just puts you at the head if the queue - all calls are answered by the same pool of agents.
There must have been a problem with the phones at the call center.
