I have a prepaid hotel booking, but want to check out one day early. Not worried about the charge for the extra night (as it is, I will be checking out in the evening, so using the room during the day).

Some hotels have been known to kick up a fuss when checking out early. I wanted to know if this is a known general problem in Japan or not?
