Yes, I am going to follow up with customer care on this. I think not clearly disclosing the fee is pretty shady and also think tacking it on to an existing reservation without warning is plain wrong.
If you do try and make a one-way reservation now, you will see the new pricing with the fee included (at least in NYC). 24/7 has pretty much lost its worth to me. I'll go back to mass transit/taxis/regular Hertz for my airport transportation needs.
