A follow up question. The top of the nightstand on my side of the bed is always completely covered with a reading lamp, a phone and a notepad. Not a single space left to put your glass or bottle of water. Is it acceptable to remove the notepad from the nightstand and put it somewhere else? Or would it be smarter to leave it in place in case you get called in the middle of the night and need to take notes?
