Just as a followup to a previous query in this thread, I contacted the PH Maldives via email about a 2 adults 2 kids situation. The reservations manager responded in a very prompt manner indicating that an exception could be made and that Diamond guests would be upgraded to a pool villa based upon availability.
The composition of the email was extremely professional and I feel like this would be a good choice for us next summer. I had emailed 3 other properties (HR London, Andaz London, PH Paris) and gotten mixed responses, 1 polite no, 1 no but didn't seem like they read the email, and no response from Paris.
Where are your 2 kids going to sleep? We stayed in a pool villa and can honestly say there is no room for any additional guests.
It's basically one bedroom, with bathroom and outdoor bath and outdoor pool.
We couldn't even have in room dining, it had to be setup outside.
