If you're flying AA you'll have access to the AA lounges in Terminal 4 at LAX. Your Gold card will get you into the Flagship Lounge, to which you will be given a keycard at the reception of the Admiral's Club. If you are connecting to BA you will also have access to the first class oneworld lounge in the International Terminal next door, which has somewhat better food and drink than the AA Flagship lounge but is also smaller and significantly busier. The new oneworld lounges will be opening later this year, which are supposed to be better and bigger.
