Wow - you totally missed the point re: the world-elite marathoner. That's actually a bit funny given the topic.
Cheers.
24 hr policy I can't cite it but was told by a hotel manager that it's supposed to be the case. Discussion came about after explaining that I had just come from a hotel that locks the door over night and shuts off the HVAC and that I had to get them to open it (which they did). Several hotels I frequent in tropical climates turn off A/C overnight of which I've had to get accomodated during my stays. My "host" hotel actually has the A/C turned on every morning knowing what time I'm usually in there. And if I miss a workout I even get questioned where I was. lol
And see that you added statement about equipment. As matter of fact I've had good luck with Shangri-La propeties and their equipment.
Re: Elite marathoner and Runner's World is where the problem is. Rag magazine. Didn't miss topic at all. Obviously the magazine is geared towards a certain audience. Let's drop this or you can send me PM if you want to know more.

Where did I say I was switching chains?
FYI, Shangri-La properties have good equipment by the way. For the most part Marriott hotels (FS) have decent equipment. It's the few that have the crappy StatTrac equipment which seems to be infiltrating more and more into Asian properties that's becoming issue.
Every resort I've visited with Marriott has had LifeFitness suite of equipment^
All I've asked is Marriott get all hotels consistent with good equipment. StarTrac = JUNK
