On another website, an interwebs poster, retired from Delta, said that they had read on other sites that this particular captain had a whole lot more strikes against them than just this failed landing, including, apparently, a long list of first officers who didn't want to fly with this captain. Yes, their union will ensure that they get the due process that they're due, but I don't think that the union will pull out all the stops in hopes that they overturn the firing in arbitration.
