Hi all. I have an old Chase Slate card that's gone unused for years. I keep it open though just for the boost to my utilization ratio and credit history. I'm thinking however about asking Chase to convert this card from a Slate to a Freedom, so I can start taking advantage of the 5x category bonuses.

If I do this, how will it impact my credit history? Will it be transparent to credit reporting agencies, or will it look like I started a brand new line of credit?
