Did you first had a booking through DUS on LH409 DUS-EWR and afterwards changed connection through FRA on UA8866 FRA-IAH?
Was a complete typo. LH 909 For my lhr-fra flight. I meant to put though that it was showing 440. I kinda mixed them up when I put 409.

You need to manage each of the flights in its respective LH PNR.
That's what I thought, just thought it was odd both would allow me to pick a seat on the fra-iah flight.

One was for the code share flights (TATL) and one was for the LH intra-Europe flights (sold as LH flight numbers).
I had to select seats on the LH TATL flights sold as a UA code share under one reference number and the intra-Europe flights under the second.
I only had to check in once each way. LH generated both sets of boarding passes at the same time.
Thanks! My exact scenario!
