DL actually has decent service in the West. While SLC is a big part of the picture, I can get to a whole lot of places out of LAX, ONT and PSP within the west. Certainly far more than AA or US can do...

As for the RJs, UA isn't any better; they've outsourced everything to OO as well. And DL has the AS codeshare, which helps a lot.
