Is clamshell design an issue for in flight access to carry-on ???

In response to Porsche911 (a very nice car), I can pack in under an hour. It's mostly bulky suits, jackets and coats which fill it up quickly.

I've more or less talked myself into the Limbo. Although, I need to find a shop which has the sizes and color I want for a final check.

However, I have been reflecting upon some of the comments I've read in the forums regarding the pros and cons of the clamshell design. For my checked luggage this is not an issue. It might even be an advantage since one of my reasons for two bags is redundancy. That is I divide things up so that I can readily deal with a single bag being delayed by a day.

However, one comment was about the use of a clamshell for one's carryon when you want to have access during the flight.

How does it work in those situations?

Do any owners of a Rimowa Cabin Multiwheel have any particular suggestions or packing tips relating to accessing one's carryon during the flight? Most of the items in my carryon I actually want to access during the flight.

Again thanks to those who have responded.
