20k miles or $500 AC credit: Fair Compensation?

Booked an AP ticket in business, return trip, outbound itinerary was:

YVR-YOW
YOW-FRA (AC metal)
FRA-BIO

Upon boarding in YOW, was informed by FA that my seat (pod), was nonfunctional and was not intended to be sold. Seat was locked in upright position with no option for powered or manual recline. Told me concierge was coming on board to discuss the matter.

Concierge came and was a good guy. He got a little bit reamed out by the FA ("This seat shouldn't have been sold. It doesn't recline. He's super elite. I don't know what you're going to do about it." Walks off quickly.)

Concierge indicated seat problem was known and someone screwed up. Said he was going to go try and downgrade an e-upgrader. This didn't sound great to me (in the least, would have been very awkward). In any case, downgrade didn't take, cabin was full, and I sucked it up at 90 degrees during the flight, while cabin crew intermittently took pity on me 'I hope they take care of you!" They said as I was deplaning.

Concierge forwarded my info to customer relations, and compensation I'm being offered is 20k non status miles or $500 transferable credit.

Interested to know - do you think this is fair compensation?
