Yes. Taiwan Mobile's web site is notoriously slow at updates. The
English page still has the old 1, 3, 5 day plans. The
Chinese page has the updated plans, which was not around when I last looked around Feb 2013.
I got the unlimited monthly plan on two occasions last year (2012). In January, it was NT$1500 for 30 days. In August, I paid NT$799 for 25 days. Both times I activated the plan by calling 535 (free call from the mobile). The leaflet I got from Taiwan Mobile counter in TPE arrival hall says the NT$799 plan is good for 25 days (600 hours), not 30 days (720 hours) as advertised in literature. The 535 system correctly says the plan is for 25 days.
I also don't like how Taiwan Mobile manages the recharge bonuses. Under Taiwan Mobile's system, it burns through your cash balance before it taps into the bonus. It matters because the bonus is only good for placing phone calls or sending SMS. Data needs to be paid from the cash balance. Chunghwa at least uses the bonus before the cash value, but their prepaid data plan was not competitive.
