With that type of layover I'd head into the city if you can get a decent rate at one of the in-town properties or use award night.
The only dif in my advice from
Twickenham's is that if you don't have a lot of luggage/want to save some $$, you can take the Picadilly line into town. And the middle of the road transport is the Heathrow Connect (vs Express) & taxi. Or if you do have $$/want to get in fast, then the HEX/cab.
