You can only have either a Serve or a Bluebird account, not both. And even if you don't have to register the card before you can spend the initial amount (I'm not sure either), it's an Amex, so you won't be able to use the card as debit. If you are going to liquidate the card with a swipe as credit you might as well have just used the original CC.
