It isn't more work. It's different work. I haven't yet had the pleasure myself, but the complaints from FAs that I have heard have been of very confined galley/cabin conditions, a layout that makes it difficult/impossible to deliver the kind of service they want to provide, and of a lack of tools on board to do the job. On the other hand, I have also heard feedback from a few FAs that customers in Y actually seemed to be ok with the aircraft. The IFE system, apparently, is a hit, and to my surprise I have heard no FA reports of customers in Y complaining of discomfort.
