To make it more clear:
If you take an Award on a SAS flight you won't pay fuel surcharges. That makes it in my opinion very attractive as I get two or three trips a year to US or Asia for 50€ per person.
Also some other carriers seems to be working without fuel surcharges, had it on UA recently for FRA -> SFO booked through EuroBonus. But there are mixed stories about that around, some had to pay fuel surcharges, some didn't. I remeber another topic where AC flights in Canada/US were free of additional charges.
Most of the other *A programs I know have fuel surcharges on all flights.
