I'll be at the Swan next week and will try to remember to report back if there is a different policy there.
Stayed at the Swan last weekend & was offered a choice of two Gold amenities, either 250 SPG points or a $15 drink credit.
Not having read this thread & thinking about typical Gold amenity options, I was confused & asked "what about the option of free internet?".
The desk clerk told me that the hotel recently changed its policy & no longer offered free internet.
Honestly surprised & confused, I asked again about the policy change. The desk clerk then agreed to grant an exception.
After that encounter I read this thread & when I went to pick up my room key, clarified that she was waiving the resort fee as I had made my reservation several months ago, before the recent policy change.
She also added that several Golds have objected to the new policy they have been waiving the fee when that happens. I asked if Plats are now also subject to the resort fee & she confirmed that the resort fee is still waived for them.
