1M lifetime not necessarily lifetime

As a 1 million miler on DL who actually went out of his way to achieve this, it is definitely not worth it. The two other domestic majors have much better benefits. The risk with Delta is that the yearly renewable benefit may become a totally non-benefit other than "1M" on your FF card, unless they eliminate that also.

Stick with Alaska for the much better partner award availability over Delta with better access to Europe, South America and Asia with Alaska partners over Delta. Saturday, I assisted 2 MVPs book two business class tickets to the Middle East with Alaska; yes, we had to use the phone but we found availability from PDX all the way and return on one and from ATL all the way and return. A ticket to ATL and return is a small price to pay for Air France comfort across the Atlantic and it earns qualifying miles toward MVP for the next year.

Trying to book the same tickets on Delta resulted in no availability for either itinerary. Stay where you are and enjoy infrequent domestic upgrades on DL as an AS elite with not much worse availability than my 1 million mile silver status.

No, I have not upgraded my status to the left.
