The difference is that I know 100+ Fders and their flying patterns. That makes it less of an opinion and more of a fact.
There are also the cerebral types who do is as a mental hobby who enjoy the challenge but not the flight, but the actual travellers WAY outnumber the others.

there's still plenty of FD flying happening as you mention. I wonder how much of it is actually what has been posted here recently, but it certainly still continues. I have my theories on exactly why it is going this way but I will keep them to myself for now.
