Once you've gone through security and customs clearance you are in a secure zone. So you can go to the duty free store, and get your purchases right then, without plane delivery. I don't know what restrictions the staff place on how much you can buy, I've never bought more than a single bottle.

It's an odd system, because for transborder flights you will have made your customs declaration and passed through customs before you purchase your duty-free.
