Haven't flown the Row 1 for the novelty (the curved window allowing you to see more during take off and landing), we opted for row 2 on our upcoming trip.

Personally we feel the Row 2 on 744 is the best row among all seats, 777 included. 1A and 2A on 777 are the better seats on 777 otherwise it would be 1K and 2K. We absolutely dont like the middle seats of D.
I agree. 2A/2K on the 744 and 1A/2A on the 77W are the best F seats IMO.

Who knows, you might luck out and not have a full cabin- just move up to row 1 for take-off and landing
