I've purchased E+ in the past and then had to change flights. The UA phone rep happily applied my E+ purchase price to my new flight. Didn't try to claim I had to purchase it all over again.
But I've never canceled outright after buying it. Perhaps it has to be applied to new travel, rather than refunded to your card. Can anyone confirm?
