Maybe this is so basic it's not an issue based on the Ts&Cs of E+, but what about straight passenger-initiated refunds for a flight? I had a fully refundable fare for a flight related to work and I had purchased an E+ seat. I ended up taking an earlier flight on a different airline and had my corporate travel agency cancel/refund my UA flight. The E+ can't be purchased through them so I had purchased on UA.com (and of course it goes w/o saying that the corporate agency can't help with refunds on E+).
Is it really true that I can't get a refund on E+ despite being on a fully refundable ticket AND cancelling in advance (vs. no-showing and not allowing UA to put that seat back into inventory)?! I once purchased the AA version of E+ and upon advance cancellation of a refundable ticket they automatically refunded the fee.
If this is true, that's absolutely ridiculous and incredibly customer unfriendly -- especially for those paying premium last-minute fares and giving advance notice on cancellations!
