LHR / London Heathrow Connections to / from T3 (non-T5) (consolidated)

This London Heathrow International Airport connection / transfer thread has been established separately from the connections / transfers between Terminals 3 (AA etc.) and 5 (BA, IB) here.

Please post your T3 <-> T1, T4 (T2 is under construction) questions, experiences, observations, etc. in this thread. Thank you, American AAdvantage Forum Moderation Team

Link to LHR "Which terminal does my flight depart from / arrive?"

LHR is comprised of five terminals. American Airlines, some oneworld airlines (e.g. Qantas, BA to Australia, etc.) use Terminal 3. BA (and as of March 25 2012, Iberia,) use Terminal 5. These terminals are not connected - you can not walk there. Use this tool to see where your next flight departs / arrives.

Local transport options:

One can walk between Terminals 1, 2*3 (only) and from either to a Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect station, and Central Bus Station.

The Heathrow Express Shuttle train T1, 2* & 3 to T5 landside, no cost, requires transfer to other train for T4):

(Heathrow Express continues to Paddington Station - 15 minutes; Paddington Connection requires 26 minutes.)

London Undergrund ("The Tube", fees unless you have an Oyster Card) connects T1-T3 and T5.

The Central Bus Terminal (National Express to London and other areas) is shared T1-T3; T4 and T5 have National Express stops.

Heathrow Hoppa busses serve most hotels (only Sofitel at T5 and Hilton T4 are accessible directly - "Hilton T5" is actually a Hotel Hoppa bus to Colnbrook, not at T5 at all); there is a £4 (£7 return) cost incurred with these, cash upon boarding or with tickets from kiosks, hotel booking desk or Central Bus Terminal.

A ground transport to National Rail, etc. guide link can be found in the wikipost.

There are also black cab / London taxis, as well as "minicabs" that can be arranged in advance (official taxis have a preposterous minimum charge for airport transport), such as www.a2zcars.org

Note: to transfer to LGW / Gatwick, you can use National Express (to Victoria or to Gatwick), cabs or Underground: transfer at Earl's Court or Hammersmith to Victoria Station for the Gatwick Express.

*T2 is currently under construction and closed, but it shares stations for HEX etc. with T1 and T3 when open.
