3 weeks on, still no rebate, so assuming it ain't happening.

As I'm stuck with AS for 2013, I'm going to try again (other cert already used). I can always use the cert, so nothing to lose. But even if I get it 2nd time around I'll switch to another airline next year - this benefit is central to my churn strategy, so not worth leaving things to chance.
Did you buy this as one $200 certificate? In my view, it would seem that Amex programmed this benefit to look at the dollar amounts and one charge of $200 would not seem like an incidental type fee, but 2 x $25 or $50's charges would.
