That's right.. competition is ramping up, and if TD and CIBC is to keep up, offers will need to be aggressive.

With the increased frequency of travel in the short term next 4 or 5 years, I'm thinking of signing up for the WestJet card to supplement my travel.. I'll pay cash for WS flights, whereas I find AC pretty expensive. Status isn't important to me, but the inexpensive option is a plus if we end up paying for flights. However, 90%+ of our flights are through AE redemptions currently.
