Not necessarily. I too worked for a Fortune 100 company and the people we had staffing our travel desk knew nothing about contracts, discounts, etc., unless it was a package (i.e. Disneyland and the such) deal sent from HQ to be displayed for employees. Everything else was programmed into the computer and they would/could only provide what the computer offered. It wasn't much longer until they did away with the staff and we had to use the same website only knowing about LLFs and heaven help you if you wanted to up-fare or switch airlines.
