Are you looking at all inventory or just award inventory? In my case, I saw plenty of paid and award inventory when I first did my search, and then the next day all was gone and the flight was zeroed out in all inventories. But again, I think whatever you're seeing for next-year inventories has nothing to do with my inquiry.
Award inventory will definitely vary from day to day, depending upon when you search. I was looking for F on October 2nd or 3rd for weeks and nothing, not even business. Then three weeks ago I was able to score a business award with AAdvantage miles and put the booking on hold. A few days later when I called in to have the ticket issued, I asked the agent if he could see any F space and indeed he got me a seat, even though my search on the BA site showed nothing. At the moment, the seat map shows me as the only passenger in F on that segment.
