Seems to me a good deal to upgrade the outward leg also (20k miles + $425 each), and then get a refund if the trans-altantic does not clear. There's only 2 seats left on that leg, but I'd get potential 'free' upgrades on the other legs - right?

Worst case, I get the upgrades I pay for. Best case I get one/two free domestic upgrades.

Am I correct in my thinking?
