I always do the surveys. I did a really good one for a hotel and got a great note from the hotel. The most surprising one was a really negative review I did of the Westin Edmonton Canada and got no answer from the hotel or starwood. Needless to say, I have not stayed at that hotel since then. I go to edmonton quite a few times a year so decided to vote with my pocket book.
